Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB)

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) or IIT Bombay as it is popularly called, established in 1958 is second Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in India. The IIT Bombay is autonomous university and hence free to conduct its own programs and award degrees. The IIT Bombay is ‘institute of national importance’ declared by parliament of India and established under IIT Act and hence responsible for conduction of R & D work for excellence in sciences and technologies and various other areas.
